Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 1/2 cups Bisquick mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp sugar (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

For the Frosting:

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  1. Preheat the Oven

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a rectangular baking pan.
  2. Make the Dough

    • In a mixing bowl, stir together Bisquick mix, milk, and 2 tbsp sugar until a dough forms. Beat the mixture for about 20 strokes until smooth.
  3. Knead and Roll

    • Sprinkle a surface with Bisquick mix and place the dough on it. Roll the dough in the mix to coat, then shape it into a ball.
    • Knead the dough 10 times, then roll or pat it into a 15 x 9-inch rectangle.
  4. Prepare the Filling

    • Spread softened butter evenly over the dough.
    • In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
    • Sprinkle raisins over the cinnamon-sugar layer if desired.
  5. Roll and Slice

    • Starting from the 15-inch side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the edges to seal the roll.
    • Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces (about 1 1/4 inches thick).
  6. Arrange and Bake

    • Place the rolls cut side down into the prepared pan, arranging them evenly.
    • Bake for 20–23 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Make the Frosting

    • While the rolls bake, prepare the frosting. In a bowl, mix together powdered sugar, softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  8. Frost and Serve

    • Allow the rolls to cool slightly before spreading the frosting over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!

Tips for Success

  • Raisins: If you’re not a fan of raisins, you can substitute them with chopped nuts, dried cranberries, or leave them out altogether.
  • Extra Cinnamon Flavor: For a stronger cinnamon taste, double the amount in the filling.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave for a warm, gooey treat.

These Bisquick Cinnamon Rolls are a nostalgic favorite, perfect for busy mornings or when you’re craving a sweet, homemade treat. Enjoy them with a cup of coffee or milk for the ultimate comfort food experience!
